Yes it is true, little kids in many homes are literally smoking everyday. This is because they have parents who smoke in the home and in the vehicle where their children are. These kids are being subjected to the smoke from tobacco whether they want it or not. People that smoke around their kids all the time, might as well buy them some tobacco too and let them go ahead and get started now.

Number one, these kids must involuntarily inhale the second hand smoke that their parents are filling their breathing air with anyway, and number two, kids who are subjected to smoking parents are more likely to smoke. Of course, it is just a joke about buying your child tobacco products for themselves. The point is that it is not too far fetched when they are constantly exposed to smoking.

Today many children are choosing not to start smoking, even some of those who have parents who smoke. They are being educated at an early age that smoking or using other tobacco products is a terrible and deadly habit to ever start. The sad thing is that a lot of this education will be lost on a lot of kids if parents do not do their part.

For any adult who has ever smoked or still does, they know how difficult it can be to stop once you start. It is usually not an easy process, so why would any parent want to expose their children to it? Kids should definitely not be exposed to second hand smoke and they also should not be able to see you do it. Kids are notorious for mimicking what they see the adults in their life do.

If you still smoke, would like to quit, and have kids, you might be able to kick the habit easier than you think if you try a few simple rules and start following them. Make a point to not smoke anywhere your kids are. Do not let them breathe your smoke and do not even let them see you smoke. Since you have to spend so much time with your kids at home and possibly in the car, this will eliminate some of the opportunities that you usually take advantage of to smoke. It might not sound like that much time, but if you spend the time with your kids that you should, it will help.

Once you have mastered not smoking when your kids are present, then you can start working on the times when you are without them. Quitting smoking is all up to you in the end. You either want to or you do not. Without making a conscious and dedicated effort, you never will.
